K. Alčauskis muzikos mokėsi Klaipėdos S. Šimkaus konservatorijoje. 1994 m. stažavosi „The Mannes College of Music“ Niujorke (JAV). LMTA 1999 m. prof. V.Noreikos klasėje baigė solinio dainavimo magistro studijas. 1998 m. debiutavo Jozefo vaidmeniu LNOBT (J. Strausso „Vienos kraujas“) ir Kauno valst. muzikiniame teatre (F. Loewe „Mano puikioji ledi“).
2002 ir 2004 m. dainininkas įvertintas „Fortūnos“ diplomu. K. Alčauskis dainuoja LNOBT, Kauno ir Klaipėdos muzikiniuose teatruose. Nuo 2005 m. K.Alčauskis yra Kauno valstybinio muzikinio teatro solistas.
2005 m. Klasikinės operos vasaros festivalyje Solothurne (Šveicarija) atliko Dono Otavijaus vaidmenį (W. A. Mozarto „Don Žuanas“). K. Alčauskis koncertavo su Lietuvos kameriniu, Lietuvos nacionaliniu ir valstybiniu simfoniniais orkestrais. Pastarojo rengtuose operų pastatymuose dainininkas atliko Tamino („Užburtoji fleita“), Lenskio („Eugenijus Oneginas“), Tobijo („Svynis Todas“), Šmito („Verteris“) partijas. Parengė tenoro partijas J. S. Bacho pasijose „Pagal Matą“ ir „Pagal Joną“, „Kalėdinėje oratorijoje“, F. Mendelssohno-Bartholdy oratorijoje „Elijas“, W. A. Mozarto „Requiem“. 3 sezonus dainavo Ramiro partiją G.Rossini „Pelenėje“ Talino operos teatre. K.Alčauskis koncertavo Lietuvoje, JAV, Olandijoje, Vokietijoje, Liuksemburge, Belgijoje, Šveicarijoje, Rumunijoje.
2008 m. už Evangelisto partiją J. S. Bacho „Pasijoje pagal Joną“ (LNOBT) pelnė operos nominacijos „Auksinį scenos kryžių“. 2013 m. dalyvavo tarptautiniame operos festivalyje „PromFest“Estijoje, kur sukūrė Lykovo vaidmenį N.Rimskio-Korsakovo operoje „Caro sužadėtinė“.[:en]The Lthuanian tenor, Kęstutis Alčauskis, studied music at Klaipeda S. Šimkaus Conservatory. In 1994: internship at The Mannes College of Music in New York (USA). At the Lithuanian Music and Theatre Academy he completed in 1999 postgraduate studies in solo singing (Prof. V. Noreika class). In 1998 at the International Opera Singer Summer Seminar he performed the role of Tamino in Die Zauberflöte conducted by J. Walnigui.
In 1999, Kęstutis Alčauskis made his debut at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre in the role of Joseph in J. Strauss’ Vienna Blood and at the Kaunas State Musical Theatre in F. Loewe’s My Fair Lady. He has already performed over 30 different tenor roles. The soloist is often invited to sing at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, Kaunas and Klaipėda Musical theatres. Since 2005, he is a soloist at the Kaunas State Musical Theatre. He has sung the roles of Tamino in Die Zauberflöte, Lensky in Eugene Onegin, Tobiah in Sweeney Todd, Smith in Value. For three seasons he sang at the Tallinn Opera House the role of Don Ramiro in G. Rossini’s Cinderella.
Kęstutis Alčauskis has performed with Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra and Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra. He has performed the tenor soloist parts in J.S. Bach’s Matthäus-Passion (BWV 244), Johannes-Passion (BWV 245) and Christmas Oratorio (BWV 248), F. Felix Mendelssohn’s oratorio Elijah, W.A. Mozart’s Requiem. He has collaborated with conductors M.G. Münster, Rolf Beck, J. Domarkas G. Rinkevičium; gave concerts in Lithuania, the USA, the Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, Switzerland and Romania, and took active part in different musical projects.
Kęstutis Alčauskis had been twice (in 2002 and 2004) appraised with the „Fortūna” Diploma from the Kaunas Department of Lithuanian Theatre Union. In 2007, he deserved Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre’s „Operos švyturys” (Opera Lighthouse) award and was announced to be the Opera Hope of the Year. In 2008, the soloist was awarded with the Golden Stage Cross of the Ministry of Culture for his work in opera.[:]
